Artist's Inspiration

I was attracted to this project when a friend invited me to participate. It is a conceptual project so it was important to represent the two themes clearly. I imagined this project initially as a symbol of hope after despair.

DARK & LIGHT

After the Maui wild fire, the Lahaina Banyan tree was badly scorched. People thought is was lost forever, but miraculously it is alive and showing signs of regrowth. It is a symbol of hope for the people of Maui and a symbol of the power of Mother Nature.

About the Artist

I have been making art since I was a child, as I am the daughter of two artists. I am retired and live in Arundel.
