NOELLE O'BRIEN

Artist's Inspiration

I like to use a lot of color and make art as a gift. Art shows how I'm feeling and it is a chance to make something beautiful. My Mom signed me up because I love making art and I have entered my artwork into shows before.

To approach this project, my Mom and I had conversations about happy feelings and sad feelings and about where we see lightness and darkness in the world around us. We talked about the stars in the sky and how you need darkness to see them and we talked about how God is there in the darkness to give us light. For lightness I painted a picture of home and a boat on a lake that travels to a river that travels to an ocean. For darkness I painted the nighttime after Jesus was crucified with a cave, moonlight, the cross, and the magic that was happening in the cave.

DARK

I painted the nighttime after Jesus was crucified. It has a cave, moonlight, the cross, and the magic that was happening in the cave. It is dark but God is there and morning will come soon.

LIGHT

It shows a boat on a lake that leads to a river that leads me to an ocean because that makes me think of home. It also has our house, a tree and flowers for nature, a sun shining to make a rainbow, and it feels like a celebration.

About the Artist

I have been making art for 5 years (since I was 7 months old!). I love making art, swimming, boogie boarding, reading, riding my bike, playing outside, rock climbing, dancing, and playdates.
